Beryl is no ordinary cow. Raised with two puppies by Australian ranch owner Sally Webster, the bovine beauty is convinced that she is also a dog. As such, it’s not uncommon for Webster to come home to find the 8-month-old bern curled up on the carpet, waiting to be pet.
According to the Dodo, Beryl was orphaned almost immediately after she was born in August 2015, when, sadly, her mother died from complications. Webster cared and bottle-fed her, wrapping her in blankets until she was old enough to sleep outside. It’s no wonder, then, that she thinks she belongs in the house!
“She knows mine and my husband’s voice,” Webster said. “She can be outside grazing out of view and we can call out her name, and she will always bellow back, in a way to reply. Or come to the house.”
Luckily, she’s also very well-behaved. Despite her size, Berly doesn’t knock things over or make a mess when she breaks into the house. She just sits patiently awaiting snuggles, and her owners are only happy to oblige!
